Car Accident Injury
What to do when you have a car accident:
- CALL THE POLICE - The Police Report is vital to any lawsuit and/or insurance claim.
Tips:
- If you are injured, ask the police to call an ambulance to take you to the nearest hospital emergency room.
- Briefly describe to the police how the accident happened.
- Give the police the names of any passengers that were in your vehicle at the time of the accident.
- REQUEST THE OTHER DRIVERS' INFORMATION - In order to file your injury claim, you will need to obtain basic information about all the drivers involved in the accident. Some drivers might not be willing to provide required information. In that event, you will have to wait and get it from the police.

- Get the drivers' and car owners' names, addresses, and phone numbers. Also get the makes, models, colors, license plate numbers, insurance companies, and insurance policy numbers of all the involved automobiles.
- If the driver attempts to leave the scene before information can be obtained, try to jot down the license plate number and state, other details such as make, model and color of the car, a description of the driver can be helpful as well.
